How can i install genmidi.dll as a Midi Device for remoting Native Instruments Reaktor in Windows2000 Server? Ore is there another good midiport driver for sequencing Reaktor, Generator..... with Softwaresequencers which works with Windows 2000 ???

Help...onboard synthesizer delay

I have cystalwave synthesizer/sound card.
I'm using a freeware piano keyboard program on
my monitor.
There's a delay when I press a key !!
Any way to fix this ??

Latency

Latency is something you don't experience to any degree with a decent soundcard. The operating system has it's issues too although most of them don't create the problem quite as efficiently as a cheap soundcard.

It's impossible to create MID files from MP3s. A MID file contains
data that describes which instruments are used and what notes they
play and when. Once the MID file has been converted to MP3 or WAV
format, all this information is lost.

This question has been asked many times and answered many times in this forum ;)

Plug your stereo or cassette player into your IN port of the soundcard. You should be able to play the music and have it come out of your PC speakers.

Now, get an <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/cat/AUDIO_EDITORS/">audio editor</a> and hit 'RECORD' when you want to record the bits you want.

Go to the <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/">front page</a> of this site and check out the audio restoration section.

Honestly, there's heaps of great stuff on this site but you're going to have to <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/search/">look for it</a>.

Yamaha DJX Help

I recently purchased a DJX and need help in connecting it to my PC. I have Fruity Loops, Cakewalk Express, and Acid. I was wondering if anyone had some pointers on how to sync up the keyboard with my software or links to sites that could lay it all out for me. Thanks

midi cable

1st step is to get a midi cable to connect yer DJX to yer soundcard game port. Then you can use a midi signal which can emnate from any key/button on yer keyboard to start/stop an app playing or you can play melody lines into fruityloops so that it's as if FL samples/synths are are playing on your keyboard. You can also connect with an audio lead to card rec in and record DJX sounds. Midi is not the keyboards sounds though just data to be read by something on the comp or another midi device. hope that helps you.

Save a heap of time and get this <a href="http://www.musiciansbooks.com/books/Fast_Guide_to_Cubase_VST/">Fast Guide to Cubase VST</a>. You'll have wasted far more time and effort trying to either find a manual on the net or simply trying to work it out yourself. The book is good.

There used to be a program which did that but it's out of action because Real.com didn't want people making a converter. Try <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/TotalRecorder/">Total Recorder</a> to save the RA as a WAV. Then you can convert it to MP3. TR will cost you a few bucks, but do the right thing and register the software if you want it.

It really irritates me that you post demos in what is supposed to be a freeware site. I down loaded LeafFX a few months back only to find it was a demo-- maybe it's just me, but that seems like bait-and-switch.

I can tell you, straight from the heart, that we don't engage in bait-and-switch on this site. In the instance you've raised, it is far more likely to be a simple case of human error. We add between 60-70 software titles a week to the site as well as maintain other sites such as <a href="http://www.guitarsite.com">GuitarSite</a> and <a href="http://www.mp3machine.com/">MP3Machine</a>. It's a lot of work and there will always be an error somewhere along the line. We all make mistakes.

Just want to make a plug for NoteAbilityPro.... out of the notation programs i've used it has the most potential.... sibelius is a fine program... but there doesn't seem anywhere for it to go, but noteabilty has a ease of note entry which lends itself to macros.... not sure what i'm saying... this is just on a demo copy....

Dolby surround files

Cd's

My friend was suprised to learn (when he got his first surround sounds amplifier/decoder) that his soundtrack CD of the "Bladerunner" movie was actually encoded with surround sounds and worked very nicely. There are a few others that are worth a look at although I don't know how you would identify which CD's are encoded. Ask around the net, someone will know... You may find you already own one...!

Wav to Cda using Nero

I have converted some wav files to cda and burnt them on to a cd using nero burner software which converts on the fly. Problem is a loss of sound quality when played on a cd player. I am new to this. Any clues

The Nero software was used to convert from wav to cda and burn on the fly. Wav's are various sampling rates and frequencies. ( should these be converted to a common level before burning?). The varoius sampling rates and frequencies do not seem to have much bearing on the result. All tracks are of lower quality than the original wavs and have some sort of distortion like static.

Convert VHS, DVD and Vinyl to CD-R

I have some old VHS videos and vinyl records I'd like to put on CD for my own usage. Also, I have a couple of DVDs I'd like on CD, so I can play the audio in my car and other portable mediums. Can someone advise how this non-technically inclined person can do so? I do have a CD-recorder and DVD-ROM built into my HP Pavilion PC, but have no accessories. Thanks for your help!

hmmm. if you have a tv-tuner card in your PC, you can record them into mpeg file (powerVCR can do that)then burn them into vcd format (nero burning rom can do that)

For DVD's you have to read articles and can find files in www.digital-digest.com to rip DVD's into DivX or Mpg format
