Pretty sweat music. Frutiy loops is a cool program ;-) Music's a little predictable, repetitive, but I guess that's trance! I'm not really into that stuff. Are you thinking about going pro?

12 tone Matrix Programs

Hi All
if anybody knows any program that helps doing the matrix of a 12 tone piece please contact me

i need a program

i need a program that separates music voices from each other , for example if i have a music file that contains drums , piano , guitar , ... and i want to hear to drums alone and piano alone , i need a program which do me this.

Is it in some sort of raw audio format like wav, or mp3? If it is, good luck. If it's a midi than it should be easy to mute the unwanted tracks.

Re: i need a program

Not a chance. And if you'd bothered to check out this forum properly you would find a more technical answer to your question.

Re: i need a program

I HAVE HEARD OF A PROGRAM THATS SOOPSED TO DO THIS AND NOT TOO BADLY IN THEORY YOU CAN TAKE OUT PARTICLAR FREQUENCYS AND LEAVE IN OTHERS, BUT WHEN YOU TAKE OUT SAY A GUITAR A LOT OF THOSE SAME FREQUENCYS WILL ALSO OCCURE IN OTHER SOUNDS SAY VOCALS, O HAVENT SEEN IT WORKING BUT MY MATE SAYS IT GREAT, E MAIL ME AND I'LL ASK HIM THE NAME AND GET BACK TOO YOU.
SO NO GUYS IT'S NOT COMPLEATLY IMPOSIBLE, BUT IN MY OPINION NOT LIKLEY.

A lot of DJ's have are able to get a hold of the original mulit track tapes. As far as separating out vocals from a stereo mix there aren't some programs that can separate what is on both channels from what is on just the left or right. Because vocals are generally centered this works fairly well for extracting them

It is possible because i have seen it done! I heard a acapella that you could barely hear the music underneeth. if u were mixing it would dissapear. Thats what djs do in their remixes!!!

ACtivating Winamp recording

In following Gecko's instructions for configuring Winamp to record streamed music, I am unable to make Winamp start recording. How do I do this? Thanks

While you have your streaming music playing, (though winamp,) You need to use another program that can record audio (such as cool edit or sndrec32) Press record on the recorder, then play on the player.

Re: music streaming

Err.. it was NOT me who suggested using Winamp to download streaming audio. In fact, i have no idea whether Winamp can do that. (I don't know about TotalRecorder either.)

The only tools i use to download streaming audio -- i repeat, download, not record. A BIG difference here! -- are: (1) URLSnooper & (2) Streambox VCR. The latter has gone underground now but can still be, i believe, found in the Net.

I have made quite a # of replies on the topic here & don't wanna repeat now. Make a stab at searching "URLSnooper" & "StreamboxVCR" here (& there) & if you still need my help.. below is a link to a message in my own board.

TROUBLES WITH CAKEWALK PRO 8 WHILE RECORDING

I recently installed Windows ME on my PC (fdisk, format and so on), replacing Windows 98. Everything goes well, but I have a trouble when I record an audio track using Cakewalk Pro 8. When I listen to what I've recorded I get some strange "modulation" effect in the first seconds of recording (for instance: I record a single guitar note and the result is an "arabian style" modulating note). It seems as Cakewalk was not able to understand the right pitch of the note. Maybe it depends on Windows ME...I hope for some help!!!

vioce recording

i am a pastor who wants to record my sermons live to the hard drive.. do some limited editing.. and then burn them to cd.. i have used the aipl singulator but im not convinced it is the best platform for voice..

i want to run from mike to soundcard through software onto the hard drive.. the messages will be most likely no longer than an hour and usually about 30 minutes..

what are my most budget conscience options for both hard and software.. thanks.. p.

sound cleaning

I need to record some CDs from my old scratched LPs ... would anybody please suggest some good software to be used? Thanx

Parametric EQ, Noise Gating, Editing

If you get pro tools free, i believe it comes with DINR. If not, I would suggest CoolEdit Pro. It has some very good parametric EQ curves and functions. You can even morph between EQ states. I think there's also a de-clicking accessory for CoolEdit. There are demos out there of CoolEdit.

Re: sound cleaning

Try Cool Edit for recording, Goldwave for cleaning and Nero for writing to CD.

What RAM files? what program are they associated with? If it's Samplitude, then there should be an option to export as wav.

How to have MIDI files transferred into notes?

Hi, I'm a first timer here. I was just wondering if there is a way to transfer a MIDI file into notes? If there is a software out there that can do that, please let me know. I just want to the notes, so I can play them. Thanks. :)

Re: How to have MIDI files transferred into notes?

Melody Assistant seems very good.I'm a bit new to it but it seems very comprehensive. Handels midis and abcs amongst others and I've had it highly recommended by those much more competant than I.It's shareware and very reasonably priced if you find it useful.Get back to me if you can't find it.
What sort of music stuff are you doing? I'd be interested to hear.

Re: How to have MIDI files transferred into notes?

It depends on how do you want the result.
Most of sequencer programs can do that easily.
All you have to do is import the midi file to sequencer, then choose a notation display.
If you want a publishing result, you need to get Finale, Sibelius, Igor.
Better yet, search for all notation programs here.

Yes, quite right, just multiply by 100 to find as a percentage, so 95.7 %.

frequency normalizing

Hi,
I like to restore audio from tapes and vinyl records, but with all the audio software programs, you have to adjust the frequencies separately. This makes audio editing, very much dificult.
Is there a program which can normalize frequencies and adjust the dynamic ranges automatically by setting the parameters myself. For example if i want a frequency of 30hz at a spl(sound pressure level) of 10 dB,the software program has to set the spl at 10dB,if it exceeds the 10 dB,or if it is below.

R.Simson

Re: frequency normalizing

What you really need, is a dynamics compressor/limiter that automatically normalizes to your level. To be more precise, you need a multiband version of that. I think you will need to do the hard work yourself. Probably not much software can do what you need all by itself. You probably need to split the file into frequency bands yourself, normalize each band, then set the amplitude of each band to what you require. There are crossover VST plug-ins that can split bands for you, but you can also do that with parametric EQ and copies of files.

I wish i could be a bit more helpful1

Re: frequency normalizing

I have Soundforge 5 with a multiband dynamics compressor.

Many Thanks

Re: frequency normalizing

The closest thing to what you want is multiband compression, this allows you to *limit* the levels of specific frequencies which exceed the threshold value, so by increasing the output gain, you can effectively increse the levels of the frequencies you want to keep by limiting the levels of those you dont want (think in reverse!). Sonic Foundry Sound Forge ships with a basic multiband compressor, it not great but it works.

Alex,

I Have Sound Forge 5 with dynamic compression options so i'll try that.I hope my recordings will sound like real cd's now, because i'm very very close to it.

Thank you!!!!
