Recording from cassette

I downloaded software that can record cassette onto CD. Do I need a special chord to connect the player to the computer, or will a regular audio cord work? Also, can I just record finished arrangements from my keyboard's memory instead of having to put it on cassette? Wouldn't this be easier and a better stereo sound?

Hey everybody just thought I'd pass this on. Beat It is now freeware. This is an interesting little program. It let's you trigger up to 16 samples from your computer keyboard and it also has a built in sequencer for the samples. I guess it's been freeware for a while now, but it's an obscure program so I thought I'd let people know just in case.

Do you want to "compose a symphonic piece" or do you want the software to compose one for you? I think harmony assistant aka melody assistant is a great program for notation, especially for the price.

I have Windows CD player, but I wanted Media Player 7.1. I loaded it, and I get as far as the "Welcome" window, install window, and the agreement window. Then when I try to start it, it goes back to the "Welcome" window again. When I put a CD into my drive, the CD player takes over. What did I miss??

play it in winamp, and let winamp write to wave file. easy.

Go to winmx.com and download a program called cool edit pro.Once you have got that you can record wave from cd , the internet( anything you want ! ) and import it into ejay.Thanks paddy

mmjbexe error

I installed MusicMatch from a disc i bought and evertime I try to open it I get mmjb.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart program. When I restart it I get the same error message. Can someone please HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Multi channel recording?

I have started experimenting with audio recording to hard disc and have got to the stage of thinking about the possibility of similtaneous multi track recording. Currently I can record only one mono or sterio input at a time then mix them as required. I suspect that I am only likely to be considering "entry level" stuff but that said can anyone inform a novice what sort of extra hardware and software I should consider?

Take a look at Samplitude from sekd.com (or is it sked.com)It will let you record from as many sound cards as you have on your computer (ie one stereo card = 2 tracks, two cards = 4 tracks) And mix up to 999 tracks (depending on hard drive and CPU speed you may not be able to realistically achieve this) It's a great program to work with.

What do I need to use to do this.....

I don't know to much on the tech side about this issue but I am learning fast. Here is my delema:
I want to blend two songs together and or be able to add some other sounds from another song. All from CD's that I own. I have burned them on my computer. What type of software do I need to be able to accomplish this and if you have any suggestions on some fairly priced ones please let me know. After I blend it all together I would then want to burn it back onto a CD. Thank you.

<a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/SonicFoundryAcid/">Acid Xpress</a> would be a good place to start. Got a sample in one BPM and the song in another? No problem. It fixes up all that fiddly stuff. Easy to use, as well.

60000ms/BPM = lenght of 1 beat

60000ms/BPM/16 = lenght of a 1/16th tick
