not working

Thanks for a great website!
Unfortunately the software I've been trying to download doesn't seem to work. It downloads smoothly, but when I try to open the "exe"-file on my desktop it says that it can not open it because the application program that created it cannot be found. What does that mean? What can I do about it? I'd be immensely happy if you could help me.

You open the VCD file in VirtualDub, go to Audio > Post Processing. Then go to File > Save WAV. You now have the audio track to it. If you also want to seperate the songs, you can search for WAV splitting software. Probably Cool Edit Pro v2.0. That's the best I can give you.

Need a tape hiss removal

I am looking for a simple (free?) program to remove the damn hiss after recording the .wav from a tape.
Can anybody help and recommend something?

Me too! I've tried several shareware, demo, etc. programs (this site) with some / variable success then purchased a "professional" program which indeed does remove "all" hiss but also all high frequencies! After carefully listening to both versions I'm unsure which is worse.

Bruce, what was the name of the "professional" Program you bought and how much was it. I don't need it for music but for class lectures, I want to be able to isolate only the instructors voice. Will this software do this?

I have an AMD Athlon 1.3 gig c/w 256 meg ram & dual monitors. After starting Nuendo 1.06 and loading in a project everything works greeat until I move the mouse abruptly or too quick. Then I get a "Nuendo caused an IPF in module Kernel32.dll at 017f:bff7c011. This only happens if I move the mouse quickly. If I go slow or not use the mouse everything works fine. Pls help if you can. Thx
