Could you send me some names of software to write music. My wife is an amature folk musician and composes her own songs and lyrics. Currently she is using Music Printer Plus by Temporal
Acuity Products, Inc. but it is a MS-DOS ver 6 program and does not run at all well on my new windows 2000 machine. Is Music Printer Plus still made, Has it been updated for windows 2000? If M.M.P. is not available is ther currently on the market a similar program for music composers? Thanks

I believe that program is no longer supported. You might find some interesting program with similar functions in the <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/cat/NOTATION/">notation</a> section of this site.

I have also used MPP and could not use it any more. Now I have Sibelius which is marvellous and coes anything I want. It is expensive though. There might also be a smaller version of Finale, a sort of notation program. For me - professional musician - Sibelius is just the answer. But there are also smaller programs. Once I tried a free version of "Mozart". Maybe you can find that in a search-engine. Success!

Windows Media Player

I have three seperate hard drives. One is fixed and is used to store the usual system files. The other two are removable but share the same docking rack. This means that only one of the two removable hard drives can be in use at any one time. One of the removable hard drives is for music only and the other is for the storage of pictures and back up of important files. After downloading all my favourite tunes from over two hundred CDs Windows Media Player was working fine. I could sort my music into any system I preferred and even kept a record of which tunes I played the most.
This was fine until I swapped the two removable drives and used the backup drive a couple of times. When I then returned the music hard drive, Windows Media Player got confused and I had no tunes left in the Media Library where I used to be able to perform sorts etc. Naturally all the tunes are still on the hard drive, but I can only play them by selecting the hard drive and select "Play All", or select individual tunes. My system hard drive is the "C" drive, while the two removable drives are both known as "D" drive.
Does anyone know how I can restore Media Player back to how it was?

as far I remember, there is a "Search for new media" option in the Micro$oft Media player.....
This should refresh the list of Media it sees as such.
