Jessie, you will need to convert the MP3's that you download from Napster to WAV files. MusicMatch Jukebox does this very well. Once they're converted to WAV files, you just burn them on cd.

What you need to do first is to download a program called mp3 to wave converter,now u have to buy the full version but the demo will allow you to have 35 conversions,so u go to yahoo and in the search box you type mp3 to wave converter,and when the results pop uppic the first choice in the page and it will take you to the site. after when ur in the site u click on download and that will link you to another page which will say download at the top. click on it and wait. once you have theprogram you will right click on ur mp3 files and the menu that pops up will have convert mp3 to wave click on that and when the song is finished converting it will automatically go to a file named converted files,that's where the wave files are and where they should be burned from.

The files you download from Napster are in MP3 format. Before you can burn them to CD (assuming you want them to play in a normal CD player), you need to convert them to WAV format. Then use something like Nero or Easy CD Creator to make a CD from the WAV files.

Nero and Easy CD Creator are commercial software programs which are usually supplied with CD-RWs so
that you can burn CDs. I'm sure there are some free programs around that'll do the same job.

problems assigning instruments

hello.
im using cakewalk pro audio 9 and i cant assign the several instruments i download from internet. the program assigns the name of the instruments but the sounds are those of general midi. i tryied everything, check the help tips, i proceeded as usual and still the same. my soundboard is the Soundblaster Platinium Live from Creative Labs.

i thank all the information u can give to solve this, if its possible.

albums i have downloaded to their original form the problem is i have na few albums i have downloaded which mix into each other i need some software that not only puts it back perfectly back also keeps the track number, i have been converting to wave file first then merging all together then burning to cd with dreadful results can anyone help please thanks ivor

Audio Editor Recommendation for Macintosh??

Hi-
I'm looking for a free- or shareware audio editor that will support 24-bit recording on a Macintosh. I'm recording songs (that I performed) from a hard-disk recorder and I already have all the cables and PCI cards to get the signal into my computer. I simply need some software to "receive" the song so I can then convert it to AIFF and burn onto CD.

I am looking to record some sounds with some unsophisticated recording equipment. If I use say a mini disk for this, what file does this create and how can I then turn that file into a WAV file.

If you use a mini disk, there is more than likely a digital output on it, optical... There will also be an analogue output that you could plug straight into your computer. If the output is Digital Coax, then you could plug into the SP/DIF input on your computer (if the audio card has one that is) and stay in the digital domain. If the minidisk is SP/DIF optical, and you have a coax (phone/RCA jack) on the audio card, you can get an Optical SP/DIF to Coaxial SP/DIF convertor. You maybe happy with the analogue though, it's up to you.

After that, it's a simple matter of recording with an application, the input from the audio card. This will end up an uncompressed wave file. Choose your application from this websites file area depending on your computer platform.

No such software exists to do this with pre-recorded music.

is there a security disable feature in .rmx files /real jukebox?

this dude at work records stuff from cd onto his hd using real jukebox, they're saved in .rmx format but they use a security key whihc only allows the computer that ripped the songs to play them... there is a way to disable that security feature (i think)

I don't remember the names though. I think Bitzhead made one recently (starts with 'T' I think, sorry...!) and there is Groovemaker although I think the former was higher rated.

You can do wonderful mixing things from within a program like cubase or logic audio although it's not trying to be a DJ style mixing tool. They also offer audio editing to a degree. You would have to convert your MP3's to Aif/Wav's first although that's easy with any of the software on this site.

Any audio editor will let you split a wave file and throw it around. Most of them appear to convert MP3's to uncompressed wave's automatically, like Bias's Peak...

You shouldn't need any special software. Any old mp3 player (winamp is cool and free to download from winamp.com) will do but you need to enable the digital audio output for your soundcard. This will be in the panenl for the soundcard in your windows control pannel. Somewhere there should be a tick box to enable the spdif output. Irritatingly enough though, you might not be able to play audio cds out of the spdif, just the analogue audio.
