Many thanks for your quick response.

As i frequent visitor to a number of forums for years,
i fully understand the things you said about human nature.
However, with respect, must point out a few things that you seem to have missed.

1. It is NOT the Format of this forum that we Don't Like;
it IS the Lack of Functions that we Hate.
To name a couple of fundamental functions it is lacking in:
Search message/archive & Email notification.

2. From the standpoint of those who are giving help.
For one, i don't really mind if a newbie to a forum asks a question that
has been asked by others 1,000 times before. If only the forum has a
search archive function, in reply, instead of writing the same thing again
& again, i would *either* search for the message(s) containing the answer
& post the link (when i am in good mood) *or* tell him/her to do a search
him/herself (when i am in bad mood.)

3. From the standpoint of those who are receiving help.
I have been receiving help from, eg, WebBBS Support Forum. That forum does
provide email notification giving both the content of the response to my
post & a link to that response. But every time, instead of reading the
response from the email, i would go to the forum to read it from there.
Why? Becoz i knew for sure i would find more info from the forum than
from the response alone. Eg: others' responses to that response etc.

4. You said "We provide a high quality service for free to the overwhelming majority of our users."
In response to this, i can do no better than quoting these from SteveR's message under this thread
(emphases added by Tarty.)

Like SteveR, i am tired of it too. To me, this is a question of
Quantity vs Quality. Needless say, as a user i expect to see the latter.

realtime MP3-Mixer

I'm a German pupil, so my English isn't the best. Could you help me?! I need a MP3-Mixer with 2 channels for mixing MP3 or WAV-music in realtime. Some nice effects like equalizer, hall, pitch and time-stretch should be in this software. Do you know a site where I get a program like this fpr free or as shareware. There is nothing that can do that reliably. You need to have a proper workflow to record instruments individually. Mixed audio cannot be 'unmixed'.

You need to learn how to use:

1) a parametric EQ (equaliser)
2) a noise gate (downward expander)
3) a mixer
4) a polarity inverter

If you can learn to use these each individually and together, then you at least have a shot at it. Otherwise, join the rest of the lost masses of karaoke-copy-cats.

Help! My husband recently bought me a Mac. I love the thing but I am having trouble finding websites to download music from. Anything I find isn't Mac compatable. Is there a website out there that is?

ÄKñ0he prompt response. When I had a regular pc I use to have Kazaa on it. I could find any artist in the site and download the music to a file. At that point I could then burn the downloads to a cd. Do they make such a site for Mac?

ENCORE/FINALE

My experience is that Encore printout capablility is so limited--not possible to ad cue notes for example, mo control over head size, illegible guitar slashes. Finale is clumsy to input and cannot hold rythym during playback. Are the typical experiences? Does anyone know of anything better?

So, Encore is a small a weak program for music notation. Finale... I have it but I don't now how it works. If you are a composer Sibelius is the best.
But if you are a copyst the best is Score but you must to learn a lot of codes (this is a software cod machine) but is the best (I indicate vresion 3.0).
I work with Encore but I have't problems with desynconisation. Maybe it' ssomething wrog with your soundblaster or Keyboard (if you use a keyb)

Im looking for a program that will separate 3 different sounds from a tape. let me clarify, i have a tape with music, people talking, and background noise.. all together.. is there some program out there that will separate these three sounds so that i can distinguish the people taking from the music and delete the background noise? hope this is clear. thanks in advance, jen

Your out of luck. There isn't anything sufficiently advanced to take on the job... There is a serious mountain to climb (in a technical way) and I doubt they will ever get it together properly..

Just Adjust the tempo so it fits the same speed as the loop. That, or lower the number of beats for the loop.

Check the audio playback buffering settings ... also check the forums at acidfanatic.com

cd burning

1) Find a link to an audio file.
2) Save the file instead of opening the link
3) Disconnect from the internet
4) Open your audio files in a CD recording program
5) Burn the disk using the CD recording program.

You will need the audio files to be in .WAV (WAVE) format on a PC, or AIFF (.AIF) format on a mac, unless you get lucky with a good computer program.

.MP3 files must be converted to .WAV or AIFF before burning to disk, unless your CD recording program does it automatically. If you have a CD recorder in your computer, it will come with its own software program for creating audio disks.
