Re: i need a full version of traktor dj mixer

okay make that big brother. Traktor used to be a free program and i used it to mix all of my mp3's then all of a sudden for the EXACT same program they want you to send them money...that rediculous. Why then i ask was it free in the first place. As well, do you think that any of the big whigs actually care what this kids IP address is....I doubt. Why don't we solve the problem where it begins in corporate america. I bet the governement is using pirated versions of Microsoft word for christs sakes....this is rediculous.

Yeh man theyll call the white house and send in bug brother the beat you up using that little red button they have under their computers.

music down loading softwear

what is the best soft wear for downloading music off the enter net if tryed kaaza and bearshare and aduiogalaxy and morphies none will work pleas help me finde some thing

Re: music down loading softwear

I can see the attraction of downloading commercial music from the internet. I admit to hating deeply the worlds music industries as they rarely cater for the talent in favour of snap together bands that are constantly repeated on the radio and Tv. Although I don't condone theft in any way, downloading commercial music is something I turn a blind eye to as it appears the only way to break the machine. (had to get that off my chest).

If you want to listen to good music, take the time to trawl through sites like IUMA.com, NoWhereRadio.com, Mp3.com (if you have to), PeopleSound.com.

There are lots of artists that deserve to be heard on these sites. There is some truly great music there if you dig around.

Most commercial music doesn't compare in band quality to these people. Give them a chance... It's Free..!

Rimmer (SteveR)

Re: music down loading softwear

I've actually wondered a bit about the MP3 thing recently. Try getting the track listings for the top 20 albums. Then get your favorite file-sharing program out and see how many tracks are actually downloadable in 128kbps or better.

I've got the feeling that it won't be easy to get through the list.

Just thoughts...

For a free service try <a href="http://launch.yahoo.com/downloads/" target="blank">http://launch.yahoo.com/downloads/</a>
or if you want to be able to burn to CD and have a
greater selection click on the PressPlay link when
you're there - you will have to pay but you won't be
installing viruses and the artists will get paid too.

Re: What to how to add a Video playing software to website using

Hello Tyva,

Can you tell us what you have tried so far to make it
work, and also tell us exactly what happens including
any error messages you get when you do it.

With a little more information like this we should be
able to help.

Jason.

Re: What to how to add a Video playing software to website using

Thanks alot for replying Jason :). Ok, I bought this DVP camera and have recorded several videos on the computer. The videos are saved as .vid. Someone told me to re-save them as JPEGS. Now what I am trying to do is find out the code/language to write the HTML. What I want to assign each video to a link (Click here to see Dropspins etc.). I also want to know after I am finished, how do I put me webpage on the web? So where do I go from here?

Things that I tried.

<P ALIGN=CENTER><IMG SRC="IMAGE33.JPG"></P>
<P ALIGN=CENTER><VID SRC="VIDEO03.JPG"></P>
<P ALIGN=CENTER><VID SRC="VIDEO03.VID"></P>

Again, thanks for answering my questions and if you have more information about making websites or you would like to advertise on my site, feel free to send me more info.

Re: Error ID = 0x80040200, Remedy ID = 0x00000000

For Win 95, 98 and 98 SE, more info at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q141801

First you have to figure out what compression format was used to create the file...
To determine which codec was used to compress the file, follow these steps:

Click Start, point to Find, click Files or Folders, type the name of the file in the Named box, and then click Find Now.
Right-click the file, click Properties, and then click the Details tab.
The Audio format line should contain information about the type of compression used to compress the file, the sound quality of the file, and whether or not the file is in stereo.

If the codec that is used to compress the file is not one of the codecs included with Windows, contact the codec manufacturer for information about troubleshooting the problem. The following codecs are included with Windows:
DSP Group TrueSpeech Software Audio Codec
Intel Indeo R3.1 Video Codec
Intel Indeo R3.2 Video Codec
Microsoft Adaptive Delta Pulse Code Modulation (ADPCM)
Microsoft Interactive Multimedia Association (IMA) ADPCM
DSP Group Truespeech Software
Microsoft Groupe Special Mobile (GSM) 6.10
Microsoft Consultative Committee for International Telephone and Telegraph (CCITT) G.711 A-Law and u-Law
Microsoft PCM Converter
Microsoft RLE Video Codec
Microsoft Video 1 Video Codec
SuperMatch Cinepak Video Codec

If the codec used to compress the file is one of the codecs included with Windows, you can verify that the particular codec is installed by following these steps:
Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
Double-click Multimedia, click the Devices tab ( Advanced tab in Windows 95), and then double-click Audio Compression Codec or Video Compression Codec to expand the branch.
If the codec used to compress the file is not listed, install the appropriate codec using the Add New Hardware tool in Control Panel. To do so, follow these steps:
Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
Double-click Add New Hardware, click Next, click No, and then click Next.
Click Sound, video, and game controllers, and then click Next.
In the Manufacturers box, click the name of the manufacturer for the codec you want to install.
In the Models box, click the codec you want to install, click Next and then click Finish.

If you still cannot play a particular file after verifying that the codec used to compress the file is installed, the codec may be disabled or damaged. To verify that a particular codec is enabled, follow these steps:
Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
Double-click Multimedia, click the Devices tab ( Advanced tab in Windows 95), and then double-click Audio Compression Codec to expand the branch.
Click the codec used to compress the file that you are attempting to play, and then click Properties.
Click Use this audio codec, and then click OK.
To ensure that you are not using a damaged codec, follow these steps to reinstall a codec:
Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
Double-click Multimedia, click the Devices tab ( Advanced tab in Windows 95), and then double-click Audio Compression Codec or Video Compression Codec to expand the branch.
Click the codec used to compress the file that you are attempting to play, and then click Properties.
Click Remove, click Yes, and then restart your computer.
When the computer restarts, click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
Double-click Add New Hardware, click Next, click No, and then click Next.
Click Sound, video, and game controllers, and then click Next.
In the Manufacturers box, click the name of the manufacturer for the codec you want to install.
In the Models box, click the codec you want to install, click Next, and then click Finish.
Conflicts Between 16-Bit and 32-Bit Codecs
If the 32-bit version of a codec that Windows needs to play a particular file is not installed or is disabled, Windows uses the 16-bit version of the codec if it is available. If the 32-bit version of the codec is installed, Windows uses this version by default. However, you may experience problems when both the 16-bit and 32-bit versions of a particular codec are installed on your computer.

The following 16-bit audio codecs are installed by the run-time versions of Microsoft Video for Windows, Microsoft Windows Sound System, and many other Microsoft multimedia programs:
Microsoft ADPCM
Microsoft IMA ADPCM
DSP Group Truespeech Software
These 16-bit codecs appear in the [Drivers] section of the System.ini file. These codecs may not be displayed in the Audio Compression Codec or the Video Compression Codec branch of the Multimedia Drivers tree. To disable a 16-bit codec, remark or remove the line in the System.ini file that corresponds to that codec. After disabling the 16-bit version of the codec, you should reinstall the 32-bit version using the steps described in the "Disabled or Damaged Codecs" section of this article.

The following lines in the System.ini file correspond to the 16-bit versions of the Microsoft ADPCM, Microsoft IMA ADPCM, and DSP Group Truespeech Software codecs, respectively:
[Drivers]
msacm.msadpcm=msadpcm.acm
msacm.imaadpcm=imaadpcm.acm
msacm.trspch=ts_soft.acm

If you are using a 16-bit program in Windows, you may want to disable the 32-bit version of a particular codec instead of disabling the 16-bit version. To do so, follow these steps:
Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
Double-click Multimedia, click the Devices tab ( Advanced tab in Windows 95), and then double-click Audio Compression Codec to expand the branch.
Click the codec you want to disable, and then click Properties.
Click Do not use this audio codec, and then click OK.

Error ID = 0x80040200

Removing vocals on a mac + audio editing

Does anyone know if there is one, a program for the MAC that removes vocals from audio files?

Also whats the best audio editor out there?

Thanks guys..

Re: Removing vocals on a mac + audio editing

Removing vocals from a stereo mix with other instruments is impossible at this time. There are Karaoke programs available from this sites download area but they are all rubbish (from experience). You have to be very luck to get much out of them at all.

The above answer was out of courtesy as it was a double barrelled question. There is a warning that posts that ask questions clearly marked in the FAQ section will be removed.

The audio editors for Mac are generally Peak (by Bias, demo for OS9 and OSX available), Spark by TC works (Demo available OS9 and free Spark ME available for OSX). Peak is fastest and gets the job done.

There are others but the above seem to be the preferred.

...

I find your message ambiguous.

I think you are wanting to select an area and then have a count in to recording right??

All multitracking software will allow Punch in/out and will count in to user selected area prior to the recording point. It's usually four bars.

reason and cubase

I have had the reason program for a while now however when I go to open it it is unable to open saying make sure I have the proper rewire2 system installed. Problems arose after installing cubase. Help.

Re: reason and cubase

Thanks to Keith will reinstallReason as suggested

Re: reason and cubase

Sounds like you have also installed an older version
of "Rewire" with Cubase..
This can also happen if you install "Rebirth" after installing "Reason"

You will probably need to re-install "Reason" to fix it.

Stomper is Spyware (downloaded from this site)

Oh, look at that. Stomper is SpyWare.

BLACKLISTED. I WILL PUBLICIZE THE FACT THAT STOMPER DIRECTLY ACCESSES THE INTERNET SECRETLY AND FOR NO REASON, WHEN FIRST RUN.

Spyware often is an indicator of ulterior motives, such as defeating security and installing backdoors or viruses. I will investigate this, and if any evidence is found I will notify the relevant authorities.

To the administrator of hitsquad.net: Please remove this potentially illegal spyware from your download area.

We will look into the matter as well, but we can't go
and remove the program just because you are suspicious
that it does something that may or may not be illegal,
innocent until a law has been broken and then found
guilty of it - democracy rules here.

Re: Stomper is Spyware (downloaded from this site)

I spoke to a friend recently and he claims that almost all software has gone down the SpyWare route. He ran a program that searches and removes spyware and it made redundant most of his applications after use.

After talking to the company responsible, they had already stated that most commercial software has 'Marketting' ware built in and if it's removed with this software, the application may no longer work.

Seriously, there is no getting away from it. I don't even think it's illegal. If it makes the governments money in extra tax revenue, they will always turn a blind eye. They probably like the idea.

Welcome big brother to the software world. MS have been caught including something in Media Player (i'll try and find the story). They store what you are using it for, links and all. MS claim they will not use the information to sell to marketting companies. Yeah right MS.

XP is a big offender apparently. It stores personal hardware and software information at MS... It's not secret.

Need Help/Need Book Title

I am really interested in producing music and sound engineering. I have no experience. I currently teach computer certification. I have a great ear for music but I don't even play any instruments or set up any equipment. I decided to get a book on how to get started in producing music. It is called "How to become a record Producer." I haven't bought it yet. Is this a good book to get me started?
Is there any book you guys suggest to really get me started. It is all new material to me.
Please give me the title of a good book and it's author to get me started. Please send me a mail to: ianbillen@totalmail.com
Thankyou for listening. Please help.

Re: Need Help/Need Book Title

Nigel offered a good tip.

Secondly, go to the local shows and talk to the sound people and roadies. They have experiences and observations that not many have.

Thirdly, look for a mentor in the business. There are selfless people in the field.

Remember, you get what you give.

Hang fire mate !
