A very good software to reduce the noise of bootlegs lives

Can you help me to find them please?

Re: A very good software to reduce the noise of bootlegs lives

You'll find that software in the audio restoration section on this site.

DNoise is good.

Go to www.getsigned.com. This won't get a producer but

record from softsynth

Hi,
When I play a midi file with my SB card internal midi gear I can record to a wave file with any recording software, but when I use my softsynth it can't. what's the way to do it?

Re: record from softsynth

Sup Benoit. Ou plutot Salut Benoit!
What kind of SB card are you using. You forgot to mention.
Normally you need to change your recording source to wave when
you record. A soft synth doesn't work like a midi synth output.
It works just like a wave player.
The outputs of a soft synth produce directly a wave files
You will noticed in your SB mixer that the wave levels are moving not hte
midi levels. So instead of recording Midi synth output you neeed to tell your recorder
to capture your wave output.
I hope that helps,
A plouche,
Claude.

recording from mini-disc / dat & track splitting

i resently bought a stand alone mini-disc player and i don't know how to get the mini-disc 1:1 on my harddrive. i can record the data (using the digital transfer) but i have all the music in one lange file on my computer.
my question:
is it possible to get a wave/mp3 of every track on that mini-disc (is the track change submitted using the digital transfer ?) ?
is there any software which supports something like that ?

From personal experience, taping shows with a portable DAT, that after creating the wav. file it can be broken up into different tracks. I currently use the CDWAV and Sound Forge 4.5. Both allow you to break a large wav. into smaller wav.'s and still allow for the continuity of the show using the DAO deal with the burner. Hope this helps.

MP3 Analysis software?

Is there any mp3 software that can automatically analyse and categorise a library of mp3s? Most of my music library isn't on CDDB, and I'd like to be able to group similar-sounding tracks together....

with regards to 99% retarded i might be that 1%
this forum is for people like myself that may need help now and again i have had help in the past and also i have helped people with problems
if it wasnt for this website and forum i would be 2%retarded so depending from which part of the globe you are from crawl back into your little hole gobshite (shite which comes from ones mouth)

What's the problem?

Re: Anybody know of a message board where 99% of the people arn'

I wouldn't go so far as to say retarded. Mostly it's plain laziness. The same questions continually cropping up, stuff that could be found easily on the Net.

If people just spent a few minutes looking for an answer instead of just posting a question here, it would make things a lot better.

We have some good news about this here at Hitsquad.

Over the next few weeks we will be rolling out some
new services which will allow people to get answers,
about, and also discuss, some of the more repetitive
topics that keep coming up here.

Geoff will make the announcements soon in one of
the next few editions of our free newsletter

This isn't really directed at you more at the original poster but I felt you would be more likely to be of help. (see my posting from earlier today).
After sifting threw many of the posts on this forum, I am wondering if it is a general consensus
that people are unintelligent because of their ignorance about a certain subject (such as recording or music). I understand that it is frustrating trying to educate people in an area you feel confident in, or repeating your knowledge because someone hasn’t read all the postings. (Trust me I worked as a call in hardware tech, and many people can’t even right click a mouse). But understand that just because someone knows nothing about your area of expertise that does not make them an idiot. Some of us are asking because we have done some searching and the tech docs that support some of these programs are almost an hard to understand as the program itself. I know nothing about music and need a recording program for hypnosis sessions. But after hrs of searching the net. Several demo downloads I have still to find a program that is simplistic enough for my limited understanding of such but complex enough to accomplish what I need to accomplish. Then I come to a site such as this for help and feel like there are people who would rather tear others down for asking questions than to help them with their needs.
If you know a better place to get our questions answered please educate me.

Re: Anybody know of a message board where 99% of the people arn'

Point taken.

Believe me, I'm no expert in this area. I just tend to play around with programs to
see what they can do. I don't go looking for specific programs to do a specific job. I

If someone want's help on a specific problem, that's fine with me. It's when I see the
same question repeated again and again with almost the same wording
that I wonder.

Perhaps it's time for a "answers to frequently asked questions" page where answers to
the more common questions could be placed. Then, this forum could be used as a "last
resort". I know a lot of software sites use this approach.

Re: Anybody know of a message board where 99% of the people arn'

You know, folks...I'm just a beginner in burning CD's and wanting to know all I can. I found this message board by SURFING THE NET and thought to myself..."good, a resource from folks like me but with a little more experience". Now I see folks not willing to answer questions because they have been asked before.....SO WHAT! It don't take much more energy to post an answer or a link to an answer as it does to post a note saying that question has been asked before.

I always say..."If you can't say something nice...DON'T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL!!!!

I'll say something nice. Do your own research
first BEFORE asking the same question for
the thousandth time. Like most of us did. There
is no problem answering a thorny question that
may crop up now and again but after you've been
around a bit you'd think that people would at
least take the three seconds to LOOK for an
answer to "how do I make a MIDI out of a .wav"
or whatever.
It astounds me that the Youth of Today take
UMBRAGE at the suggestion they should get off
their fat behinds and do a little legwork of
their own.

Re: Anybody know of a 4um where 99% of the people arn't complete

Lisa

This debate about 'laziness' crops up on most discussion forums from time to time. People get burnt out answering the same questions. Other people don't look for answers themselves and can't be bothered reading an FAQ.

It's frustrating at times, but you can't just assume people are lazy. If you want to help them, help them. If you don't, there's little point in giving them a hard time - except for your own ego. Chill out a bit.

We're here for fun. Not for war.

It comes in Traktor DJ player, DJ mixer, DJ studio . That's the best out there.

Cassette to CD, clean up & slow down or speed up

My wife often puts on public performances of Highland Dancing. She usually uses a variable speed tape player, since most of the tapes need speeding up or slowing down a bit. This is somewhat awkward, so we would like to create a set of CD masters from the tapes. We need software with the following features:

- copy the cassette to disk for editing
- clean up noise etc.
- speed up or slow down
- record to CD for use in a sound system

Can anyone suggest easy-to-use software to accomplish this? (REALLY easy-to-use - we are complete novices in this area);-)

Thanks for any help...

Can't get midi in with cubase!

Hey,

I just formatted my computer then I reinstalled everything. I hooked my guitar synth up to my computer and before in cubase I could hear it and change the instruments and stuff but now I dont even get and midi coming in. Does anybody know what might be wrong? I have a roland gr-09 is there any settings that I should have set on it to transmitt?

Re: Can't get midi in with cubase!

When you reinstalled you probably forgot to reinstall your
midi interface.
If you didn't forget then you need to go in the MME setup
in cubase an activate your midi inputs.

Pianodisc to PC

I just got a new piano with a pianodisc 128+ installed and was really disappointed
to find out that the floppy disks are recorded in a proprietqary format and cannot
be read by a PC. Yikes.

What I want to do is record on the piano, move the files to a PC sequencer so I can edit
them and then return the edited tracks to the piano for
audio recording. Seems reasonable to me...

So can anyone help with suggestions here? It seems as if there
are two options:

(1) a third party program to read the pianodisc floppies. Pianodisc
claims these are "disappointing" but offers no details.

(2) a dedicated hardware sequencer. Can anyone recommend a really
inexpensive one that would let me record to a readable floppy?

Of course I could set up a computer with asoftware sequencer in the living
room but this seems like an expensive and annoying option. I'd like to focus
on making music.

Thanks.

If you use the AUX 2 inputs on your Livedrive you first have to activate them. You do this by clicking on the little red star above the AUX 2 fader on the mixer control.
I mention this because i couldnt get a signal into my computer via the AUX 2 inputs. It took me days to figure out. The 'Help' section of the Platinum is bollocks.

Need help with undoing a wav file

I recently done some recording for our band.Once I had finished the master wave files I burn them to CD in zip format. This part is OKay. But what I want to do is return the wave back into multitrack so that I can work the individual tracks. The original Hard drive had a heart attack so I lost everything.
I used Cooledit Pro for recording.
Question;
Is there any way that the wave file can be reversed

all answers or any help would be appreciated

Thanks John

Re: Need help with undoing a wav file

As I understand this, you record as a MIDI file, then convert to WAV format.

If this is the case, then there is no way back. The track data kept in the
MIDI file is lost during the conversion.

.Try this:
,1- select 'ASIO DirectX Full Duplex Driver' from the ASIO device drop-down.
,2- click 'ASIO Control Panel'
,3- for DirectSound (SB Live! Wave Out) AND SB Live Wave In set the
buffer size to 1200, and hit return.
This should drop the latency.
Please let me know how you get on.
See ya.

Re: Asio problems....

Any body knows where to download a full duplex driver that WORKS!!! on cubase 5.0 \soundblaster live platinum??

: Learning slowly..

Re: Asio problems....

You can find at the steinberg website.
More specifically on the ftp://ftp.steinberg.net
site.
But Unfortunately don't expect any miracles because
SB platinum is NOT ASIO compatible.
Unless you download the cracked version of the APS EMU Asio
drivers that works on Platinum.
But guess what it messes up your system real bad.
So you're better off a real Asio sound card, trust me.
