Cool Edit 2000 is a common download for musicians and artists who want to start working with recording and audio editing. With Cool Edit 2000 you can not only add fantastic effects such as reverb, delay, echo, flanger, distortion, envelope generated silence, noise (white, pink or brown), DTMF signals or tones - but you can now read and write MP3 using Fraunhofer-based codecs!

Because many of you might be downloading Cool Edit 2000 for the first time, we've linked to a series of really helpful tutorials that are hosted on the Syntrillium site. I have to admit that I thought I had a pretty good understanding of all things Cool Edit, but these tutorials let me in on a few 'secrets'.

Instructions:
When you click on a tutorial's download link, your browser will prompt you to select a location on your hard drive where it will save the tutorial's installer. Make note of this location. After the download is complete, find the tutorial's installer and double click on it. The installer will place the tutorial in the appropriate folder in your Cool Edit 2000 directory, and then give you the opportunity to watch the tutorial. If you want to view the tutorial again, you can do so by going to Cool Edit 2000's Help menu, selecting the Tutorials sub menu, and then selecting the tutorial you would like to view.

Note: The list of tutorials above is a complete list of all available tutorials. Cool Edit 2000 features active tutorial retrieval. The feature can be found under the help menu called 'Tutorials' in the program. Using this feature, Cool Edit 2000 will allow you to download tutorials from within the program itself;therefore you may already have some of the tutorials listed above.
